Gallaudet University Tour

Early arrivers to this year’s 2024 UMA Safety Management Seminar will have the unique opportunity to tour Gallaudet University, home to the Kellogg Conference Hotel where this year’s event will be held. 

Founded in 1864 as a grammar school for both deaf and blind children, Gallaudet University is a private federally chartered university in Washington, D.C. for the education of the deaf and hard of hearing. It was the first school for the advanced education of the deaf and hard of hearing in the world and remains the only higher education institution in which all programs and services are specifically designed to accommodate deaf and hard of hearing students. 

Long a part of the Washington, D.C landscape and culture, the pastoral campus of nearly 100 acres and 150+ year old buildings is located just over a mile from the U.S. Capitol and just 7 miles from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
